UAE’s Leading Entrepreneurs Headline Panel Discussion At The Arcadia School

The discussion is part of the School’s Entrepreneur-in-Residence programme to motivate children to work towards career achievement from a young age.

Dubai, UAE – The Arcadia School (Arcadia), one of the finest British curriculum schools in the UAE, as part of its Children’s Entrepreneur Workshop hosted four leading entrepreneurs at the school in Jumeirah Village Triangle on 22nd April 2017.

Nisreen Shocair, President, Virgin Megastore – ME, Nilesh Ved, Chairman, Apparel Group, Thomas Lundgren, Founder & CEO, THE One and Walid Hajj, Chairman, Cravia Group were the esteemed panellists for a discussion on “Can we teach Entrepreneurship?.” David Harkin, the CEO of the UK-based 7billionideas, served as the moderator.

The session, which was exclusively for parents of the participating children, triggered a dialogue on the need for inculcating entrepreneurial spirit in children from a young age. It was in step with Arcadia’s unique Entrepreneur-in-Residence programme that gives children an opportunity to learn from seasoned entrepreneurs and collaborate with experts to bring their ideas to life.

Navin Valrani, CEO of The Arcadia School, says, “At Arcadia, we want our students to pursue academic excellence and beyond. We cater to their enquiring and imaginative minds and encourage creative thinking. By connecting them with successful people who have valuable lessons to share, we are truly serving our vision of nurturing lifelong learning. We have now in place our Enterprise Hub at the school where our students will have a dedicated space to turn their creative ideas into reality.”

David Harkin, Arcadia’s Entrepreneur-in-Residence, adds, “It is very important that parents are in sync with the objectives of this programme and understand the value it brings to their children. We addressed the most basic yet crucial question on entrepreneurship at this workshop so as to enable parents to formulate their own opinion and play their part in guiding their children to success.”

“Following a very successful first edition of the Children’s Entrepreneur Workshop held in January earlier this year, this second edition featured several activities that were designed to develop teamwork, presentation skills, public speaking and listening skills by combining idea generation and development.
