As a part of our ethos at Arcadia, we aim to develop and nurture the whole child. Having the ability to collaborate, communicate, work well under pressure and show resilience during times where challenge is present are skills in which we want our children to excel. Based on this, in the winter term, we hold an ‘Outdoor Adventure Week’ during which time teachers plan a variety of activities which hold these key skills at their core. In addition to this, students are taken out of the school environment to apply these skills in new and unfamiliar environments. Use of the outdoors makes a major contribution to physical and environmental education and enhances many other curriculum areas. It contributes to personal growth and social awareness, developing skills for life and the world of work. We are really excited about the introduction of Outdoor Adventure Week and believe our students will thoroughly enjoy the various activities that come with it.
