Dubai, UAE Mohan Valrani, Sr. Vice Chairman of the Al Shirawi Group of Companies and the Founder and Chairman of The Arcadia School was awarded the highly sought after Lifetime Achievement Award at The Indian CEO Awards 2016 in Dubai last night.
Mohan is no stranger to awards, having received more than 30 over the past 10 years including: Forbes Middle East 2014 Award for top Indian Leaders in the Arab World, The Lifetime Achievement award from CPI Media Group sponsored by Dubai Economic department, Human achievers Foundation award for Excellence in education and The 20 Years of Giving from Rashid Centre for the Disabled, to name a few.
“I am humbled by receiving this award, however I feel my greatest achievement is yet to come. I have decided to move my focus to my true passion – education. I believe that education is the beating heart of a thriving society and therefore I am launching a series of schools in Dubai that will change the education landscape forever.” commented Mr. Valrani.
“We have set ourselves some ambitious goals: to be the best in class for primary and secondary education for our students, to be the most satisfying employer of the very best teachers, to keep abreast of the most advanced technological teaching aids available anywhere in the world, to work with our architects and designers to make sure our facilities are of outstanding merit and wholly fit for purpose and to make our relationships with parents personal and compassionate. All of these qualities are now being applied to our pre-opening plans for the launch of our first primary school – The Arcadia School. “
The first in a series of schools are set to open in August 2016. The Arcadia School will follow the National Curriculum for England (NCfE) at state of the art facilities in Jumeirah Village Triangle.
Taking a holistic approach to looking after staff, their teachers will be provided with 7-star accommodation, first class benefits, access to the best training courses and the latest technology to aid in the education process. By doing this, the school aims to provide students with a unique and advantageous learning space, that will nurture and encourage students.
About The Arcadia School
The Arcadia School, located in Dubai’s Jumeirah Village Triangle, offers the National Curriculum for England to students studying from Foundation Stage 1 (nursery) to Key Stage 2 (year 6). Due to open in August 2016, the community school aspires to be one of the leading British primary schools in the world by instilling into students a lifelong passion for learning, and by nurturing innovation and the pursuit of excellence amongst the teaching staff.
The Arcadia School is the first in a series of community-based schools delivering the vision of Mohan Valrani the Founder and Chairman. As the previous Chairman of the Indian High School, Valrani is an avid believer in providing the very best education for future generations.
Believing that a school’s greatest asset is its teachers, the group is building Arcadia House, a dedicated accommodation facility within JVT for school staff. By offering the enhanced benefit of quality housing, Arcadia Group is investing fully in its teachers’ happiness and wellbeing thereby encouraging them to aspire to excellence within the classroom.
The Arcadia School’s curriculum includes a unique Enrichment Learning Programme (ELP) – an all-inclusive programme, based on an extended school day – that complements the core curriculum, providing dynamic and diverse activities and rich learning opportunities for students, including in-class homework support. The ELP is provided at no extra cost to parents and is a core aspect of the school’s values and ethos, where lifelong learning is nurtured. In addition, the school is offering specialist support for English as an Additional Language (EAL) as part of the core curriculum for those students whose native language is not English.
Future Dubai-based schools for Arcadia Group include The Arcadia Senior School, also in Jumeirah Village Triangle; and The Arcadia Primary and Secondary School in Jebel Ali.
