In light of the current COVID-19 global crisis, Arcadia School has taken a range of pro-active decisions to ensure the safety and health of its whole community. The following information provides guidance for parents and other community members on the school’s responses. This page will continue to be updated regularly.
As per direction from the Ministry of Education, Arcadia school will remain closed to students for the remainder of the 2019-20 academic year. The school will continue to follow directives from the UAE government, the Ministry of Education (MOE) and the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) as they are released and will fully update parents and staff at all times.
The entire school building has been fully internally sanitised by a professional and licensed cleaning company. For this reason and until further notice, no access into the building will be allowed. The school’s security will be on duty to ensure access control is maintained.
The school is providing a full online learning curriculum for its students to ensure coverage of curriculum objectives is achieved for all age groups. Class teachers and specialist teachers are providing remote learning through the school’s online systems as follows:
Live, interactive opportunities are provided for specific age groups, for identified classes and for assemblies, whenever appropriate, through the use of Zoom technology. This is utilised under strict safeguarding guidelines and these are also shared with parents. In support of minimising virus transmission risk, the school will not be providing stocks of paper, stationery or hard copy materials to students.
Ipads are provided to Years 1 and 2 students on a loan basis to support online learning from home. Parents are required to sign a contract for provision of this equipment.
Further to the announcement from Arcadia's Chairman, Mohan Valrani, on Arcadia social media platforms, we now share the "Parent Care Package" instigated by your comments and requests at the recent 'Town Hall' meeting and approved by the Arcadia board.
