Arcadia to provide accomodation for all its Auxiliary Staff

Decision comes with schools in Dubai expecting to open on 30th August

Arcadia to provide accomodation for all its Auxiliary Staff

Dubai, July 1st 2020 - Arcadia Schools announced today that it would be taking over the accommodation provision for all auxiliary staff at its primary and secondary schools beginning 1st August. Further to the school’s announcement on mandatory testing last week, Arcadia will now provide apartments and transportation to all its security, janitorial, technical and transportation staff.

According to the OECD’s policy response to Coronavirus (COVID-19), "densely populated places where people live and gather, are at risk of spreading the virus due to the close proximity among residents and challenges to implement social distancing."

"At Arcadia, we take the health and safety of our entire family very seriously. As a result, we have taken all potential risk factors into consideration, one being the living conditions amongst our employees. We are committed to making sure that all staff members are living in conditions that provide them the required space to uphold social distancing guidelines. Not only will this protect them, but it will also protect our entire family" said Mary Donnelly - Head of Primary

The decision will allow the school to ensure that apartments are regularly disinfected and lightly- populated. Arcadia’s decision comes despite a significant increase in its cost structures as the school ramps up its infrastructure spend to protect its community. The school earlier announced investments in UV technology for its air conditioning systems and a mandatory testing programme for all its staff.
