The Arcadia School Voted ‘New School Of The Year’ At The Mother, Baby & Child Awards 2016

Located in the Jumeirah Village Triangle, the British-curriculum primary school opened its doors to students in August 2016

Dubai, United Arab Emirates – The Arcadia School was awarded the ‘New School of the Year Award 2016’ at the fifth edition of the Mother, Baby & Child Awards held on Wednesday, 7th December. In a glittering ceremony held at the Habtoor Grand Beach Resort & Spa (Dubai Marina), the annual awards acknowledge the enormous contribution which brands, educational establishments, healthcare providers, and other entities make towards shaping UAE-based families’ futures through their role in helping mothers and nurturing children.

The school follows the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum for the Foundation Stage years and the new National Curriculum for England (NCfE) for Key Stage years. The school was honoured with the prestigious award for revolutionising the learning and teaching experience for students in Dubai, with its state-of-the-art facilities, excellent teaching staff, and a uniquely holistic approach to both student development as well as staff wellbeing.

Commenting on this landmark achievement, Dr. Navin Valrani, the CEO of The Arcadia School says, “We’re really delighted to receive this prestigious award from the Mother, Baby & Child Awards 2016. This award is a result of the sincere contribution of each and every team member of the Arcadia family, under the leadership of Principal Graham Beale and Deputy Principal Kephren Sherry.”

The school has also been deploying groundbreaking technology as part of its curriculum as well as its facilities. The school is targeting to be an Apple Distinguished School for its one-to-one Apple programme as well as Dubai’s first LEED certified school building.

The only awards of their kind, the annual Mother, Baby & Child Awards give mothers the opportunity to help shape vital industries, which are part of their daily lives and recognise brands for supporting them and their families.

About The Arcadia School

The Arcadia School, located in Dubai’s Jumeirah Village Triangle, offers the National Curriculum for England to students studying from the Early Years Foundation Stage (FS1) to Key Stage 2 (Year 6). The community-focused school opened in August 2016 and aspires to be one of the leading British primary schools in the world by instilling into students a lifelong passion for learning, and by nurturing innovation and the pursuit of excellence amongst the teaching staff.

The Arcadia School is the first in a series of community-based schools delivering the vision of Mohan Valrani and the Al Shirawi Group. As the Chairman of the school, Valrani is an avid believer in providing the very best education for future generations.

Believing that a school’s greatest asset is its teachers, the group is building The Arcadia House, a dedicated accommodation facility within JVT for school staff. By offering the enhanced benefit of quality housing, the school is investing fully in its teachers’ happiness and wellbeing thereby encouraging them to aspire to excellence within the classroom.

The curriculum at the school is backed up by the Talk for Writing program from the UK. Talk for Writing enables children to imitate the key language they need for a particular topic orally before they try reading and analysing it.

Future Dubai-based schools for Arcadia Group include The Arcadia Senior School, also in Jumeirah Village Triangle; and The Arcadia Primary and Secondary School in Jebel Ali.
